Locality: Lower Niobrara chalk, Gove Co., Kansas

Description: 70% complete skeleton of Platecarpus planifrons with Toxochelys turtle stomach contents as a panel mount. Skeleton 18 feet (5.3m) long. Fossil 85 million years old.

Comments: Before this specimen was discovered, the mantra was “Platecarpus only ate fish”. Well, we like to be contrary! This specimen will be mounted as a flat wall-mount, with the reconstructed skull in 3 dimensions chasing the juvenile turtle whose remains were discovered with it. Everyone loves a skeleton with a story!
